The Solana program that stores off-chain metadata references (name, symbol, URI, creators) for SPL tokens and NFTs.
Metaplex Token Metadata is the standard for attaching metadata to Solana tokens and NFTs. Each mint can have a metadata account (a PDA) storing name, symbol, off-chain URI, creators, and royalties.
The URI usually points to an IPFS or Arweave JSON file containing the logo image URL and description. DEX Screener, Birdeye, Phantom, and MakeMeACoin all read Metaplex metadata to render token info.
