Definition

TVL measures how much value users have deposited into a DeFi protocol. Higher TVL usually correlates with trust, liquidity depth, and lower slippage. For a specific pool, TVL is the sum of both sides valued in USD.

For meme coins, pool TVL matters more than protocol TVL. A $200k Raydium CPMM pool can support meaningful trading; a $2k pool cannot.
