An extra fee added to a Solana transaction to pay validators to include it faster during network congestion.
Solana transactions have a base fee (5,000 lamports per signature) plus an optional priority fee, which is a per-compute-unit tip. Higher tips give validators more incentive to include the transaction quickly.
