The address permitted to mint new supply of an SPL token — revoking it permanently locks supply.
The mint authority of an SPL token is the wallet or PDA allowed to create new tokens. If active, the holder can inflate supply at any time. If revoked (set to null), no more tokens can ever be minted for that mint.
