Freeze authority lets the holder freeze any wallet's token account, preventing transfers of that token. Stablecoins like USDC use it legitimately for compliance. Meme coins with active freeze authority can rug retail by freezing sellers.
Revoking freeze authority disables this power permanently. Combined with revoked mint authority, a token becomes provably neutral — no one can inflate supply or block holders.
