Glossary / Risk & Trust
A bot that monitors new liquidity pool events and buys the largest possible slice in block 0 — often to dump on later buyers.
Sniper bots detect pool creation on Raydium, Orca, and Meteora and race to buy at the lowest price. Their advantage: sub-second reaction and high priority fees. Impact for founders: retail buys at 3–10x the sniper's entry.
Countermeasures include stealth launch timing, anti-MEV RPCs, sensible initial LP, and post-launch transparency on top holders. There is no "anti-sniper bot" that reliably works — most such tools are snipers repackaged.
