Definition

A mint address is a base58 string (~44 characters) that identifies a single SPL or Token-2022 token. When you paste a "contract address" into DEX Screener, Phantom, Solscan, or MakeMeACoin, you are pasting the mint address.

Mint addresses are permanent. They do not change if metadata updates. If a project migrates to a new mint (for example, after a pump.fun graduation), the new mint is a different token even if the name and logo are identical. Always verify a mint via Solscan before trading.
