A Solana epoch is 432,000 slots, roughly 2 days. Staking rewards are calculated and distributed at epoch boundaries, and leader schedules for validators are set per epoch.
For token launches, epochs matter mainly for staking-related tokens (liquid staking, restaking) and for coordinating community events that align with reward distributions.
